The Rossoneri travel to the Italian capital this weekend where they will face Roma at the Olimpico.By David Taylor January 8th, 2016. The capital club welcome Milan on a 4 match unbeaten run in Serie A which consists of 3 draws and 1 win. The last time Roma tasted defeat in Serie A was on November 29 when Atalanta conquered them thanks to a 2-0 victory.

Should the Giallorossi collect another positive result on Saturday, they would equal their longest unbeaten streak for the season, five, which was set from round 6 through to round 10.Thanks to a routine 2-0 win over Genoa, Roma put an end to their four-game winless run in the Serie A. The Giallorossi were on the verge of beating Chievo in midweek, but they eventually shared the spoils with the Mussi Volanti. The Romans have been slipping down the standings week by week, and seeing that they are six points behind league leaders Inter, Rudi Garcia’s troops are desperate to pick up all three points from Saturday’s derby against Milan.

Even though everybody expected that Milan would kick off the second half of the season with a win over Bologna at their San Siro, the Rossoneri suffered an upsetting 1-0 loss to the Rossoblu on Wednesday evening. Sinisa Mihajlovic’s men dropped to seventh place in the Serie A standings and they are no longer in the race for Scudetto. Milan face a tough fixture list in days to come as they will square off against three title-chasing sides Roma, Fiorentina and Inter in the national championship, meaning that thee Rossoneri will have to be at the top of their game if they are to record at least one win in the upcoming league games.

Whatever the outcome in Rome, the Rossoneri will close out the first part of the season with their highest points total in 3 years. Milan make their way to the Italian capital currently on 28 points, 2 more than at the half-way stage last season, and 6 more than the 2013/14 season. Sinisa Mihajlovic’s troops are looking to move a little closer to the Champions League places, but beating Roma in the “Eternal City” is easier said than done. Milan’s back-line will have to ensure they are on their toes right from the first whistle on Saturday, because the Roman attack have scored the most goals this season in the opening 15 minutes, firing in 7 goals, which is a record they share with Fiorentina.
